Brunch Behavior: The Pour Report

The End of Social Media Shade

Styles Season 1 Episode 27

If the Shade Ain’t Solving the Problem, What’s the Point?

Today’s pour is for the folks who swear they’re “not talking about anybody”… while posting the most obvious subliminal known to man.

On Brunch Behavior: The Pour Report, we’re cracking open a toxic trend that’s running wild across Instagram, TikTok, and every timeline with Wi-Fi: indirect conflict on social media. From those mysterious song lyrics to the “I’m speaking in general” story shade, we’re calling it what it is — weak behavior dressed up as confidence.

If you’ve got smoke? Say it with your chest, not through a filtered meme and a recycled quote from 2013.

This episode pours into:

  • Why grown adults should be too mature for subliminal shots
  • How sneak dissing screams insecurity, not power
  • The difference between real confrontation vs. IG ranting for engagement
  • Why online boldness rarely matches real-life energy
  • How social platforms turned conflict into content for the algorithm
  • Why pretending “that wasn’t shade” just makes it even more obvious
  • And why posting for the public is not the same as communicating like an adult

🎧 If you’re ready to leave petty behind and start handling conflict like an adult with a cocktail in hand—this one’s for you.

Styles:

If you don't have the energy to say it, don't sub it. Welcome to Brunch Behavior, the Poor Report. I'm Styles and today's poor direct, with no digital detours. Let me break this down for you. We are way too old to be on social media throwing shade. If you got something to say, say it. If you have an issue with somebody, address it.

Styles:

But posts and sneak disses and vague yo some of y'all rants in your stories. That's not real, that's rehearsal. People act bold with wi-fi and weak in real life. If you don't have the energy to send a message directly, why are you broadcasting it publicly? Subbing is not maturity, is messiness with a filter. Now here's what it really looks like in the wild the brunch behavior breakdown. You're scrolling through instagram and boom, there's a story that feels a little too specific, a passive, aggressive quote, a shady meme, a caption that I ain't saying, no names. But if the shoe fits and you're like, wait, hold up, is that about me? Here's the thing. If it feels like shade, it probably is. And if they could post it but can't speak it, they don't want resolution, they want attention.

Styles:

Social media has turned confrontation into performance. People would rather post a problem than work through it. They'll vent to strangers before they speak to the person that actually matters. And here's the wild part They'll claim it wasn't even about you and then get mad when you stop speaking to them. Make it make sense. Let's stop normalizing indirect conflict. If it's grown energy you want, it has to start with grown communication. So what's the takeaway? Accountability is a DM, not a reel, and that's your pour for today For grown folks communication and zero Wi-Fi warfare. Grab the free pour and when you're ready to move from petty to powerful, sip the Brunch Behavior Summer Pack. The link's in the description. Just another timeline translator from your boy Styles.
